Growing A Newly Planted Lawn:
Spring and Fall are the best time to sow seed. Seed germinates best when soil temperature is 60° to 80°F. Summer seedings can be successful if the area is kept moist constantly.
Loosen top 3″ to 4″ of soil. Test soil to determine pH (6.5-7.0 is ideal). If necessary, adjust soil pH accordingly. Grade to a level, smooth, debris-free surface. Apply Turf Line Fas-Start Seed Starter Fertilizer.
Divide seed into two equal parts and apply evenly in two directions. Gently rake into soil. To retain moisture and keep seeds from washing or blowing away, cover with straw or burlap cloth.
Watering is crucial to seeding success. Water with a sprinkler 10 to 15 minutes, three times a day, until seedlings are up. Continue to water once or twice a week until the lawn is established.
